The Da Gama was a deep space probe captained by Admiral Vayle. The Seventh Doctor once materialised on board to discover the ship was on autopilot and that Vayle was in a form of suspended animation in which he experienced virtual reality. At the time, the ship was in the thirteenth year of its mission. (IHP: Technical Hitch)
