If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.
I've noticed that a lot of editors are jumping right in and helping out with updating the front page. And that's great! You certainly don't have to be an admin to update any of the sections on the front page.
However, please remember that the front page isn't primarily aimed at you, the registered editor. It's meant for the casual reader of the site. It's the front door for our guests. That's why you see Special:WikiActivity when you log on and they see the front page.
Because the front page is aimed at readers, it must be readable. Every link must be valid. We don't want our guests going immediately from our front door to a dead end.
Therefore, do not link to pages that have not been created. It is better to link to a story that's not quite the latest audio or comic, than to link . . . nowhere.
Note that the front page image grids always produce blue links, so it may not be obvious that you've got a bad link. That's why you should practise this simple rule:
- Create the new story page first; then link to it on the front page.
