The Doctor visits Mikhail's ship at various points in Mikhail's life, but out of sequence. The Doctor's first visit to the ship comes at the time of Mikhail's death, and the Doctor's last visit is the first time that Mikhail meets him. During the Doctor's final visit to the ship, he saves the ship from space privateers.

Reversal of Fortune was the third short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Steel Skies. It was written by Graeme Burk. It featured the Eighth Doctor.

Summary

When an old man called Mikhail curses him with his dying breath, the Doctor travels back in time to find out why Mikhail hates him so much. But can the Doctor really be responsible for the deaths of Mikhail's entire crew?
