Gordon Hamilton was the son of the commander of the Solar Queen, a ship that had landed on the world of Vortis when the world had been steered from its home system and into the vicinity of Jupiter's moons.
Gordon aided the First Doctor in rescuing the remaining crew members of the Solar Queen who had been captured by the Zarbi who were under the command of the Zarbi Supremo. Upon his return to the Solar Queen, Gordon remained with his ailing father. (PROSE: The Lair of Zarbi Supremo)
