Yes that's actually why I am getting in touch. The Related Videos module was built as a proof-of-concept feature and we knew it wasn't scalable to launch on many more wikis. We've reached the point in our Video project where we're confident enough to turn on for more wikis (release plan TBD). However, this requires some functionality changes. We've changed the add a video button so it posts all videos directly to the global list. The existing page-specific video lists are still being respected and only appear on that specific page. This behavior is going to change though, and starting Oct 3rd the page-specific video list will be merged into the global list. That means that anything you have programmed specifically to a page will be seen not only there, but accessible from the Related Videos module on every page. We will no longer offer page specific videos. The RelatedVideos pages will become non-functional pages and anything you add there will not be seen in the Related Videos module. I know you did a lot of page specific customizations, so I am sorry that this is being removed. You can copy the videos listed there and paste them in a gallery on the related article. | |||
In the near future the module will also automatically pull in high quality, licensed, relevant videos from the [[w:c:video|Wikia Video Library]] and automatically add them to your module so you will have the latest and best video content from our content providers. Only Admins will be able to edit what appears in the Related Videos module so you can remove what you feel is not appropriate. Our statistics show that people are six times more likely to watch videos that are embedded into articles than they are to watch videos in the Related Videos module. Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Related videos module
Hey, Sarah. I noticed your announcement at memoryalpha:forum:related videos module coming soon, and I was wondering if I could sorta apply for early adoption on this wiki. We have a finicky li'l video policy, and I'd love to provide input on whether the new module works with our policies.
