Jana Kristan was an investigative journalist. She was murdered and replaced by an assassin working for the pale man. She went with Liz to find the Doctor. They found him in an underground Silurian shelter. She had hoped to find a lone Silurian. When confronted with a large number of them, she panicked and shot Chukk, killing him. She was then killed by the other Silurians. (PROSE: The Scales of Injustice)
