The Royal Television Society Awards are given out annually by the Royal Television Society (or RTS). The Society is a British-based educational charity for the analysis and discussion of all forms of television. It is the oldest of its kind in the world. The awards are given in 6 categories:
- Craft & Design Awards
- Innovation Awards
- Programme Awards
- Television Journalism Awards
- Educational Television Awards
- Student Television Awards
Several people and organizations associated with Doctor Who and its spin-offs have won or been nominated for RTS awards, including Steven Moffat, Catherine Tate, Barbara Kidd, Peter Wragg, Murray Gold and The Mill.
