Hi. When you have a moment, could you please delete the file I uploaded to http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Image:WheelInSpaceBook.jpg ? For some reason when I was adding info to The Wheel in Space (novelisation) the book image didn't downloaded, so I thought because of its rarity you didn't have the image. But then the image clicked in, so this one isn't needed. Thanks! 23skidoo 19:33, 21 July 2008 (UTC) | Hi. * Thanks. Over at Wikipedia I'm an admin so I just delete things directly; I'd forgotten the coding for requesting deletion. I was off work with a bad cold yesterday so spent my day updating page numbers and adding alternate-edition cover blurbs and images for the novelisations and many other book articles. I also added a few like The Universal Databank. I have a few Peter Haining books I'll try and get to soon as well. I also made corrections in the NDA, TDA and TWA infoboxes that had them listed as paperbacks. I know there was a limited paperback release of some of the books (Quick Reads not included) but the recent novels are primarily hardcover releases so I've noted this... "Proper" wiki Merges
As an aside, things like Border Princess and Border Princes should be merged properly in order to merge the histories into one place. Have you ever done this before? If not, the process is as follows:
- manually copy the information from the destination to the source article.
- delete the destination article
- move the source article to the destination (this creates the redirect too)
- undelete all deleted revisions of the page
And voila... you're done. You have all of the history from every instance of the article in one location. :) -- Sulfur 15:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Right (didn't know how to do it, or probably thought about it and did the easier way). Will bare it in mind for the future thanks. --Tangerineduel 16:06, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Ghosts in the Machines?
Someone has created an article for the 2008 Christmas special using this title.I did a Google and could find no official word, just some blogs using it. The article itself had some pretty blatant nonsense in it (including listing David Morrisley playing "The Other Doctor"), as well as stuff obviously cut-and-pasted from Journey's End. I've removed virtually all the content, to be honest, but I'm hesitant to delete it if in fact the title has been announced. I'll leave it up to you. I also had to do a little surgery because whoever created the article deleted all the infobox links to the Proms Special (and that article may need to be retitled Proms Cutaway as that appears to be the title RTD is using for it.) 23skidoo 04:34, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Good move deleting them (though Christmas Special 2008 would probably be OK as a working title article if the BBC doesn't announce a title soon). I'm adding a couple of embedded notes to the Journeys End and Prom infoboxes discouraging anyone putting in a title without it being confirmed by the BBC. 23skidoo 17:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Although i think its likely that anothor one will pop up within a few days so you may have to delete a few before the special airs Dark Lord Xander 08:07, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- I wish there was a way of locking the infobox on Journey's End. I just had to remove Ghosts in the Machines again. Oh and despite Julie Gardner confirming Tennant for the specials, Wikipedia's David Morrissey article has had to have a note attached to it asking people not to keep putting down the rumor that he's the next Doctor (apparently this rumor comes from a combination of reports that he guest stars in the special and that he's currently the bookie's favorite for the 11th Doctor (per The Telegraph), even though No. 2 is John Simm who isn't even qualified anymore due to the fact he already played the Master. Currently a Morrissey article does not yet exist, but since he is confirmed as a guest star one will likely be soon, so it'll need to be policed closely to ferret out false (or, at the very least, premature) rumours. 23skidoo 04:07, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I had to remove it from the proms cutaway page as well since they cannot create it it seems they are quite happy creating redlinks to it Dark Lord Xander 05:25, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Although i think its likely that anothor one will pop up within a few days so you may have to delete a few before the special airs Dark Lord Xander 08:07, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Character Toys
Hi, just to let you know since you did the last direct, I think, the page leading to the range of figures is headed Character Group. Well I didn't find it at first, because it is more widely known (in the UK at least), as Character Options (which is a part of Character Group PLC. - a toy and gift company established in Lees. near Manchester in 1991.) It was Character Options that secured the 'Master Toy Licence' from BBC Worldwide in 2005 for the TV series. Most reviews I've read and the packaging, as well as Howes Toybox guides refer to products from Character Options.
Theres loads more merchandising links to this company so I didn't know if you wanted to rehead the page.
Incidentally just got their interactive Dalek! Soooooooo Cool! The only drawback I've found is the signals conflict if you've got more than one roaming about and they appear to become disobedient, not doing what their told, like naughty children! (Maybe thats where Davros went wrong?!) Ill stop now. The Librarian 01:11, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Re: Admins
I was waiting for something like that and to be honest my dreams of being an admin were already shot down in flames (so to speak on the rights request page due to lack of support/ interest) and really i haven't though about it in a week or so, so no its not about me trying to remove them so i can take there it was brought about by the fact that i was astonished that so many admins were no longer present but i guess coming from wookieepedia its a bit of a culture shock and the main aim was to develop a user talk template for taking a brake from the wiki so i didn't have to search through every admins contributions to find out who to talk to.
If when every active admin has had there say you all decide to ignore every aspect of the proposal i have put forwad i will except your decision an bow out of the debate (at least i can say i got a heated debate going in the forums :) Dark Lord Xander 17:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank You

Dalek
I was just wondering .. I was looking through the Gallery of Daleks , Dalek and The Five Doctors pages and i noticed thst in this whole wiki there was no picture of the black dalek from the five doctors . I thought id upload one BUT .. I cant seem to find one . Seriously I looked everywhere . Do you know where i can find a picture of this dalek , Cause i think this wiki could need one and it also happens to be my favourite dalek design - Not voice .
SOMTHING Im starting - all this links on pages that are red for pages that dont exsist or the wrong link has been supplied . Or whatever . Im correcting the wrong links . For thing that there is no pages on and there is no need to have pages on ive taken the of the words . Im alsow linking alot of things to wikipedia . I always hated thoose ugly red word things .I have done some work on the The Unquiet Dead,Dalek AND Mondasian Cyberman. should i conntinue ? Quark16 15:47, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- ( uhh .. i thought it was a good idea the fix or rederect the broken/Wrong links to pages that dont exsist for example Oscar Wilde to Oscar Wilde. Well could you please answer my dalek question in my previous message . If its not to much trouble . Did you start this wiki ? Who did ?Quark16 17:34, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
