Mrs Pritchard was mother to Gwendoline and formerly the wife of George Pritchard. Josiah Samuel Smith took their home, Gabriel Chase. Smith removed all knowledge of her relationship with her daughter from Mrs. Pritchard, whom Smith made his ward. When she began to realise the truth, Light, the alien being who had recently awoken, turned Gwendoline and her mother into stone statues, since he hated change. (TV: Ghost Light)
