Series 7

What's the basis of assertion for it being series 7? I know the first three specials, and Carol were a part of the upcoming series. But this had its own production block, clearly separate from any series. And I thought its budget came as part of the 2011 commission, not the 2012. We need to clarify this point with citable facts ASAP.

I out it into series 7 more out of habit than anything else. I'm use to putt ing the Christmas specials into the next series. However, according to the Doctor Who website, it is part of series 6 and ACC is part of series 5. I not sure if we want to change all of these or just this. Presumably, if it were part of Series 6, it would have been included on "The Complete Sixth Series" boxset--emphasis on complete. It wouldn't be a complete series boxset if it omitted an episode. As with every Christmas special since the 2005 revival (barring The End of Time), this rightly ought to be considered the first episode of the season it precedes. DigiFluid talk to me 05:27, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
It also didn't include Death Is the Only Answer, so I find that argument incorrect. OS25 (talk to me.) 05:34, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
A mini-sode written by schoolchildren doesn't count. To my mind, its canonicity is suspect at best. DigiFluid talk to me 05:47, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Androzani Major

Is it actually stated that part of this story takes place on Androzani Major? Or is this just being assumed because it was mentioned? MM/Want to talk? 22:20, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Pretty un-ambiguously, yeah, unless I SERIOUSLY misinterpreted it. -- Tybort (talk page) 22:30, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
I think the only mention of it was when the Harvest Rangers said there were from Androzani Manjor. MM/Want to talk? 22:43, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
There are other half-references; the trees being harvested are "Androzani Trees" and the rangers vehicle is an "Androzani Harvester", but not sure this necessarily means the planet is Androzani Major; it could be a colony Baziel talk to me 03:53, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Baziel. Just because you see a Lada packed with Russians on the road next to a pine tree doesn't mean you're in Siberia. DigiFluid talk to me 05:50, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
It is not stated to be set on this planet, it is only mentioned. Not once is it said "We are on Androzani Major". Because the Harvest Rangers are from Androzani Major does not mean it set there - are all stories featuring humans set on Earth? Just because the tree are Androzanian does not mena it is set there - I refer back to the human article. I therefore say that the planet is unnamed. MM/Want to talk? 14:13, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe references

What section can we use to list nods to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and/or the Chronicles of Narnia (eg Uncle Digory)? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.10.151.179 (talk).

I would say story notes. Boblipton talk to me 02:37, December 27, 2011 (UTC)
Nope, references. MM/Want to talk? 12:47, December 27, 2011 (UTC)

airplane

I am not an airplane guy, but it would be nice if someone could identify the model that Reg Arwell flies.Boblipton talk to me 02:48, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

Silent Night

Did no one notice Silent Night playing? Rather similar to the reference in Abigail's Song.190.34.192.197talk to me 13:13, December 30, 2011 (UTC)

A Christmas carol in a Christmas episode. Very suspicious. Boblipton talk to me 13:19, December 30, 2011 (UTC)

You don't think anyone on the production team made note of that, and that it would be construed as a possible reference? I'm not claiming it's anything more, just pointing out the (likely) reference that parallels another Silence reference that was also in a song in the last Christmas episode. 24.112.147.72talk to me 16:55, January 17, 2012 (UTC)

time vortex

Just how was a wormhole leading to the time/space vortex sitting there in space near the planet. Unless the combined sub-etheric (or artron energy) of the forest lifeforces generated that rift for the globe to travel through. Open to other theories!!

Timeline question

Under Timeline for Amy and Rory it says:

This story occurs some time before they wave at their past selves in: TV: The Hungry Earth

How do we know that? Couldn't they have made that trip sometime in their past, off-screen? Or did I miss a reference somewhere that they did that the very last time they saw the Doctor? (thereby ensuring that they have to do it after now, since they've just seen the Doctor again) I'm just curious if I missed something, or if this is just speculation, thanks! Maelwys talk to me 21:37, January 13, 2012 (UTC)

Well, it's very unlikely that the Doctor whould take them Back there.... OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 21:42, January 13, 2012 (UTC)

Madge, Cyril and Lily's companion status

Just wondering if there is a reason they aren't listed as companions yet on the wikipedia page. There is already a Doctor Who Magazine citation that quotes them as being companions, and Claire Skinner's name was in the title sequence. Is there another reason they wouldn't be listed?

  • ok when the doctor crashes in the spacesuit he asks to be taken to a police box, which turns out to be the wrong one, not a tardis, but on the door it has the st john ambulance sticker on the door which police boxes in the 40's, 50's did not. Agathahetrodyne 20:13, December 26, 2012 (UTC)
