The Sun-singers of Akhet was a star system of seven planets. Its inhabitants worshipped Akhaten, which they referred to as the Old God. They believed that life in the universe originated there. The Eleventh Doctor called their creation myth "a nice story".

Once every thousand years the Rings of Akhaten aligned and the people celebrated with the Festival of Offerings.

A key feature of the system was the Pyramid of the Rings of Akhaten, a holy site located in a small asteroid within the Rings of Akhaten. (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)

The people of this system used emotionally charged items as a currency.
