Doctor Who in America was a documentary co-produced by BBC America, BBC Worldwide and BBC Wales. It was shown directly after BBC America's broadcast of Day of the Moon on 30 April 2011. Unlike other BBCA Doctor Who specials like The Ultimate Guide and Rewind, it did not recap events for an American audience. Instead, it presented behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, more like an episode of Confidential. It chronicled the cast and crew's trip to America to film scenes for The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon.
