This week's episode: Nightmare in Silver was a bit of a disappointment to be honet, but not bad either. The kids did nothing, except act arrogant and high and mighty in Angie's case (Rose Tyler, anyone?). The CyberDoctor acted too emotional, but Matt Smith's performance was sinister enough to make me forgive it (Though that doesn't justify it). The story reminded me heavily of Tomb of the Cybermen, so it's not exactly original, but it's not bad either. As for the Cybermen, I think they are brilliant. Much more terrifying than the previous model with their faster speed, ability to adapt, and ability to detach parts. The Cybermites are also a frightening little idea, though this kind of renders the Cybermats useless now. The ending reminded me of Tomb of the Cybermen also. The ringmaster was great, but I wish he was used more. Porridge was easily the best character, written and acted. So with a great but not very original plot, mostly good supporting characters, Matt Smith proving why he's a great actor, and excellent new Cybemren, I'd give it an 8/10, and I'm looking forward to next week's episode, The Name of the Doctor. | ||
