The fourteenth season of Doctor Who ran between 4th September 1976 and 2nd April 1977. It consisted of 6 serials and 26 episodes. The season is notable for the departure of Sarah Jane Smith, the only complete serial of the original series in which the Doctor did not travel with a companion (The Deadly Assassin), the return of the Master for the first time since the death of the character's original actor, Roger Delgado, the introduction of Leela, and the overall Gothic atmosphere of the season.
