| Well, they announced yesterday ([http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/caroline-skinner.html]) that [[Caroline Skinner]] was leaving and that [[Faith Penhale]] would be taking over as executive producer for "the Fiftieth Anniversary", and more importantly for this discussion: "The recruitment process for a new executive producer for ''the next series'' will start shortly" (emphasis added). I don't expect this is enough information to warrant re-creating the Series 8 page yet, but it's nice to see some sort of official confirmation - however small - that the Beeb are planning something for the show beyond the end of 2013!

| ...as of two days ago, they've announced the commissioning on the official DW website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/articles/Doctor-Who-A-New-Series-and-More - no word yet on how many episodes or when they'll air, but at least we've got it in so many words, from the BBC, that Series 8 is definitely happening with Moffat staying as head writer. we also know Brian Minchin will serve as Series 8's other executive producer. time to create the page now?
