Kaftan was a member of the Brotherhood of Logicians. She financed Professor Parry's expedition to Telos. She took part in the expedition with her colleague Eric Klieg and her servant Toberman. She helped Klieg form an alliance with the Cybermen, but was shot and killed by the Cyber-Controller. (TV: The Tomb of the Cybermen)
