hey, i noticed that you deleted the "Dark Pit of Rough" page. I had a look at the picture

[1]

and i didn't realize that the link to the article name in Happy Deathday was not correct,

sorry about that, but i wish that you could have told me that beforehand, i would have request to delete the article and then move the contents to the right name Sclera1 talk to me 03:54, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

FP deletion

Please immediately stop deleting FP-related stuff. I will take care of deletions once the content has been entirely migrated to the FP wiki. Thanks.
czechout<staff />   15:55: Tue 29 May 2012

Wow. It's not just that you've deleted pages prematurely, but you've edited away FP information pages that still exist here. You've completely screwed up what would otherwise have been an orderly migration of data from this database to w:c:factionparadox. Now I have to undo a ton of your edits before I can even move the articles. You really should have asked what was going on before you assumed you knew what the deal was. And if you didn't want to talk to people, you could have at least read the forum discussions carefully, Had you done so, you'd have learned that this effort was about moving articles, not simply about deleting the information. As a matter of compliance with CC-BY-SA 3.0, I have to actually perform a full on export of the data. For convenience, it's best to export the version which includes FP information, and then whittle away the DWU info. So now I have to go back and undo what you've done just to move it. You've massively expanded the time necessary to complete this somewhat tedious task.
You must start involving yourself in the community. I don't have enough hours in the day to continue cleaning up after your deletions which are not in compliance with group discussions. This is basically a repeat of the timeline deletion fiasco that you visited upon us. I'm therefore blocking you from all editing for 72 hours to give me time to make the final moves of FP data. You are also being stripped of admin powers until 7 June 2012.
czechout<staff />   17:10: Tue 29 May 2012
I was able to undo your damage more quickly than anticipated. Your block has been lifted and your admin powers returned. However, I urge you to please surface from time to time in forum discussions so that you're better apprised of what's going on around the wiki.

Monobook backround

Are you sure you've cleared your cache? I'm editing in Monobook right now and I'm not having any problems reading anything. Could you maybe take a screenshot and let me see what you're looking at? Also, what browser are you're using? If Internet Explorer, note that we don't guarantee compatibility.
czechout<staff />   13:47: Fri 01 Jun 2012

Yes, but the way it's fixed entirely suggests to me that you're on a very old browser and/or IE < 9.0. You should be aware that if you don't upgrade your browser soon, you will increasingly lose functionality. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to keep design elements that work for your situation — mainly because Wikia itself have recently been more declarative about what browsers they support.
czechout<staff />   13:57: Fri 01 Jun 2012
Even if you're using IE 9, however, complete compatibility is not guaranteed. IE, no matter the version number, isn't supported on this site any longer. IE has <18% market share these days, and has been in steady, monthly decline since the wiki opened in 2004. This means that it's peculiarities need no longer be catered for. You have a better shot of being able to see the site with IE 9+, but, still, IE is simply too different from other browsers to guarantee complete compatibility — especially in Monobook, which is offered on an "as-is" basis, anyway. I strongly urge you to switch to Firefox, Google, or Safari. Alternately, if you really want to keep IE, you can change your own, personal CSS if you see a problem.

Wikipediainfo

Is the wikipediainfo really necessary on Crystal ball? I didn't use wikipedia to write the summary at the top. Or is it just one of those things that you have to use on pages with meta-explanations? Memnarc talk to me 07:25, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

FP stuff

I see at The Enemy that you went through and changed the redlinks to FP stories to interwiki links to w:c:factionparadox. Please don't do this. Instead, rip these statements out of this wiki entirely. FP books and stories are not valid sources any more. As determined by various forum discussions to which I've alerted you in the past, we're trying to delete statements from FP sources — not just keep them around with a different kind of link. If you really feel that a particular statement is absolutely necessary, you can retain it, but put it in the behind the scenes section. Additionally, you should add a {{fpx}} statement to the "external link" section of any article from which you delete FP information. Thanks :)

Binary

I sort of messed up and after already changing all the links, decided to move Clockwork (The Blue Angel) to Clockwork (species) once I realised that that was the more "proper" place. (I didn't change the links as it was really late) Could you edit Binary to amend that? -- Tybort (talk page) 14:14, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

[[File: |160px|left]] Topic name was ... [[ |Read more...]]Category:Aotm templates Hi I have no idea if i'm doing this right or how to title this. But youtold me I could come to you for starter help.

In case you can't see that number this time, I'm the one who addded to the River Song page and you removed the paragraph (still not sure where I went wrong), but right now my problem is I can't sign up because my physical challenges make it impossible to, among other things see the blurry words well enough to reproduce them. I couldn't find the accessibility option the sign up page so I'm looking for a bypass I guess. Thanks

Thank you

For cleaning up some of my bits and bobs. :) ----Ebyabe (talk) 17:11, October 5, 2012 (UTC)

Forums

Have you been following the new forum structure? The new forums are located at Special:Forum. I'm not sure how you even created your Mysterious Planet question forum post. I've deleted it as all forum questions must go in the new forums. --Tangerineduel / talk 02:26, December 16, 2012 (UTC)

Island of Gushing Gold

According to this diff you changed the source for this article to The Dalek Book. That's pretty broad. Would you happen to know which story contained the reference to Island of Gushing Gold?
czechout<staff />    07:20: Wed 19 Dec 2012

It's from 'The Dalography of Skaro'. Doug86 07:49, December 19, 2012 (UTC)

Don't delete videos just cause they're "unused"

I know you love to delete unused files, so I should tell you that videos don't obey the expected rules of file usage. If you go to cricket bat, you'll see a video in the right rail. This video, File:Coming to terms with regeneration - Doctor Who Castrovalva - BBC is actually on cricket bat, regeneration and Fifth Doctor. But being in the right rail doesn't "count" towards the file usage stat, so you get this false positive "no pages link to this image" message.

For this reason, I'd advise that you not delete videos on the basis of the "file usage" stat. You should pretty much assume that every video uploaded is being used somehow, even if it's not readily apparent how.

Fireplaces and Infoboxes

Trying to learn more about the markup language, and I don't understand what problem in the info box your edits of The Girl in the Fireplace (TV story) fixed, and I'm having trouble finding a help file to learn more about it. Care to shed some light? Or barring that, send me to a page or discussion that explains it? ComicBookGoddess 19:22, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Gamma radiation

Re-added a page you deleted some time back, Gamma radiation. Sourced everything, but the fictional behavior is radically different than real world gamma radiation. Added a behind the scenes section, not sure if it's a no-no but I couldn't think of any other way to point out the specific variations between the two. Check it out and see if you have any alternatives? ComicBookGoddess 03:49, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Edit War at Controller (Bad Wolf)

Hi, I hope I'm right in thinking you're an admin - would you be able to lock the page at Controller (Bad Wolf)? A couple days ago an unregistered user started changing the page around (Controller to Fat Controller, Daleks to Steam Engines, Davros to David, etc.) and since I was on when I noticed it, I changed it back. Now I get a notification every time the page is changed, and the same user keeps making the same edits. I've inadvertently involved myself in an edit war and I'd like it to stop. TARDIStraveler 11:48, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you twice, but the same user that was vandalizing the Controller page has now started on the pages for Dalek and Supreme Dalek - changing the words Dalek to Diesel Engines. I want to let an admin know, because this guy is being really obnoxious about it, and I don't have time to run around undoing his erroneous edits. His IP is 2.223.154.182. Thank you. The Heavy Hand of Forum Moderation & Disappearing Discussions

Could you leave links to other community Forums (like The Howling) and Forum archives onto the main Community Forum page? It has been frustrating to me to post questions to the Reference Desk and then returned to find they have disappeared, sometimes deleted and sometimes moved to other Forums that do not appear on the Forums main page.

I can understand why the Reference Desk is so rarely used compared to the Topic Talk pages where I have found friendly discussion and help. But if there is going to be this overzealous policing and shutting down of ongoing conversations in the Reference Desk Forum, there should be an easy way to track down where the *$%+## moderator has moved them. 63.143.217.227talk to me 19:07, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Zombie Page

Hey, I was just looking at the "zombie" page, and I personally think that it needs some restructuring: first off, the main part refers only to the original zombie from Haitian lore, when in fact the very name "zombie" has since more or less evolved into a general term covering most resurrected corpses. In addition, the second section, "Minor References", is about as vague as it can get. Do you think that we should restructure and improve the article? --Dr. Anonymous1 14:43, April 20, 2013 (UTC)

Unsigned personal attacks

On the page Howling:Unresolved plot cookies - Series 7 part 2, a user with a variable IP address beginning 63.143... has been making unsigned personal attacks. I've identified the IP addresses from the page's history. As far as I can tell, this user has made no other contribution to that discussion. (Please note that my own IP address changes -- often radically -- each time I connect to the Internet, so I'm not likely to receive any message left on the talk page for my current address.) --89.241.69.58talk to me 01:38, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

Blogs and getting started

Hello, I am getting quite used to this Wikia already, but I've heard of Blog posts. I'd like to hear how to make these, as I've not seen any buttons for it. I'd also like to know which topics are allowed. For istance, if I wish to blog about something completely non-Doctor Who, for instance Harry Potter, would that be okay?

Thank you for your time.

deleted sandbox

Is there a particular reason that you deleted my Sandbox? Anoted 05:04, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

It's been two days since I left this message and I have NOT received a reply (and you have been editing during this time). You deleted a personal userpage of mine and you did not leave me a message on my talk page or even provide an explanatory edit summary. I'm assuming that the page was causing a serious problem of some kind and had to be deleted, because I can't see why my userpage would have been deleted otherwise. I can't figure out why you didn't just blank the page and leave me a message, but that's why I came here. I suspended judgement and asked. Ignoring me is seriously not cool. Anoted 17:31, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry about the lateness of my reply. The reason I deleted your page is because userpages are supposed to have the prefix User: and without it they seem to be regular article pages. I will try to be more careful in the future. Doug86 20:21, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't notice that--somehow it got created without a user prefix...not sure what happened, adding a /Sandbox1 to the url of my userpage should have created it with a user prefix. Fortunately the text of the page was short enough that I was able to rescue it and add it to another sandbox. Anoted 03:11, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

tardis list of cast and crew list

I left a message on the talk page for the list of cast and crew several days ago and have not gotten a response from you--the only editor of that page. Could you pop over there so that the discussion I started can get going? I have a bunch of questions about the page none of which are self-evident when I go to the page. Thanks. removing who played what on year pages

Why are you removing the who played what information on year pages? Could you explain what the idea behind these edits are? Anoted 02:55, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

If you haven't noticed, SmallerOnTheOutside has been cleaning up the day pages, but hasn't had time to do the same on the year pages, so I have taken it upon myself to do so instead. Doug86 04:05, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

{{Doug86}} hey so sorry mate but I don't know anything since I am a new member and I was wondering about this hypercube I received? So where do I find the message that was sent to me via hypercube? Thanks for taking a quick glance at my question if you do!

Navigation Help

Hey Doug, I want to know how to set up the wiki navigation and the font on my wiki, UEFA Wiki. Here's a link http://uefa.wikia.com/wiki/UEFA_Wiki. I know it has something to do with the css but I want the code. Thanks --QuestionRules 20:25, May 28, 2013 (UTC)

Atropa belladonna

Hi. Why exactly did you delete Atropa belladonna? I'm sure you have a reason, but you didn't cite one and I can't think of any.

I mean, it's named in the script, and I said nothing that not written in it:

Is it? Yes. I thought so. Atropa belladonna. Deadly Nightshade.
[...]
Remember, we brought no food with us and the only water available is that poisoned water out there with Deadly Nightshade.

Oh, and I missed a piece of info: atropine is the poisonous bit.

Anyway, I'm sure there is a reason, but I have checked to the best of my abilities and there is no duplicate anywhere. Or at least I haven't found it yet.
--SOTO 04:09, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

The reason is because we already have a page for this at Belladonna. My apologies for not citing the reason for the deletion. Doug86 04:47, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, thank you.
But... umm... "Belladonna" is technically an incorrect title, and it's never identified as such in the serial. It's only ever called "Atropa belladonna" and "Deadly Nightshade" (capitalised as such both in my CC and according to its Wikipedia article). Therefore, both "Belladonna" and "deadly nightshade" are bad titles. Sure, they can stay as redirects, but the article should rest at either Atropa Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade.
I'll put a {{rename}} tag now.
--SOTO 04:52, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Just wanted to say thanks for welcoming me to the wiki. And also If you could would you be able to tell me how hyperlink pages. Thanks

Snivystorm 15:11, July 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Doug You responded to my edits on the page about my grandfather William Hartnell. I'm afraid I may not have done all this in the correct manner as I am a little confused by the systems on these websites! A lot of the information on there was incorrecct and it frustrates me that it appears to have been gleaned from newspaper articles which, I have already pointed out in my biography of my grandfather, are often inaccurate. I have corrected the data with a brief summary but I do somewhat object to the comments (which I haven't yet removed) about my biography being a "hagiography". This was not the judgement of the jounalists from the newspapers who reviewed my book when it was published 16 years ago. Amongst others, the Sunday Telegraph and the Daily Mail gave it very good reviews, implying how unbiased it was. (I'll happily scan in the copy should you so wish me to "prove" this - if there is some way of emailing you these). I'm not sure who the one person in the Doctor Who press is who didn't warm to my biography - perhaps because I staunchly refused to invent information I couldn't verify and I gave personal memories of his involvement in Doctor Who, but I can assure you that all the information in my book came from diaries, letters, programmes, photographs and my mother, who was Bill's daughter, and interviews with people who had worked with him. I object to the inference in the article on this site that "Information is hard to verify" - perhaps this can be removed by yourself as it would seem untrue. It implies I am lying. If that person would like to challenge any specific facts, then they are free to contact me, my work address is easily found on the net.

In the same way, "fluffs" are constantly discussed without any reference being made to the fact that the show was recorded virtually as live with only a couple of post shoot edits. The programme had a 48 week a year schedule, something which would never ever be considered nowadays with such a small core cast, so the pressure on Bill who was in virtually every episode was immense. Is it possible to introduce a note about that into the discussion of the fluffs? I would be grateful.

I had endless problems with the main wikipedia entry where it took me ages to correct the facts of his birth and there ONE person's view was allowed to cloud his biography. One person, who clearly didn't get on with him, claimed he was anti-semitic when Bill in fact adored Carole Ann Ford his first companion AND Verity Lambert, both of whom were Jewish. He may well have been sometimes bigoted (not surprising given the prevailing views of his generation), but he was never so on a personal level and it is unpleasant to have prove things which most of those involved will attest to..

If I need to do something quite different to amend your tardis website, then please do help me do it correctly! ~ ~ ~ ~
