Ned Alleyn was a friend of Christopher Marlowe. He mistook the Fourth Doctor for Marlowe, but learning that the Doctor was a friend of Marlowe, invited the Doctor and his boy, in reality Sarah Jane Smith, to a meal. They discussed Marlowe's brilliance and the threats on his life. (PROSE: All Done with Mirrors)
