A laser spanner was a device that the Tenth Doctor claimed to have owned when sarcastically questioned by Martha Jones about his sonic screwdriver, saying that it was stolen by Emmeline Pankhurst, a "cheeky woman." However, he may have been joking with her, as he was busy trying to recover the hospital records after the Judoon had erased them. (TV: Smith and Jones)
