His career in film and television stretches back to at least the late 1960s. He's likely best known for recurring roles on 1976's Bill Brand and 2002's The Jury. He has, however, worked steadily from 1967 to at least 2011, landing roles on shows like: The Hour; Life on Mars, with John Simm; Our Friends in the North, with Christopher Eccleston; All Creatures Great and Small, with Peter Davison; The Duchess of Duke Street; Z-Cars; and Take Three Girls.
