The Device did not bare any relation to the Television set of today (which was invented by Marconi) by the early 1950's (when Television first became popular) the sets were already highly developed although simple to have repaired when they broke (which they did often), The Wire tried to regain a Physical body by using the Alexandra Palace Television Transmission although the Doctor Managed to trap her in a Betamax Video Cassette.
