John Glassman was an oilman. When oil was found in East Ridge, Texas, he visited the town to buy land from the inhabitants. Thomas Watson refused to sell his land, so Glassman resorted to several tactics to convince him to sell.
Glassman incited the townspeople against Watson. He sent people to Watson's land to search for oil. And he finally incited a mob of people to go to Watson's land, trying to kill him. When Watson was rescued by the Second Doctor, Glassman was forced to leave town. (PROSE: The Farmer's Story)
