Eric Thompson (9 November 1929-30 November 1982) played Viscount Gaston de Leran in the Doctor Who story The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve. He was the husband of Phyllida Law and father of actress Emma Thompson. He is iconically known for re-writing and narrating "The Magic Roundabout" in the UK.
