Captain Hardaker was the captain of the Starship Titanic. He was ordered by Max Capricorn to keep the shields off so that the asteroids would hit the Titanic. He participated in the plan because he was dying and was promised that his family would receive a great deal of money. When Midshipman Alonzo Frame tried to turn them back on, Hardaker shot him.
