Meera Syal (born 27 June 1961) played Dr. Nasreen Chaudhry in the Doctor Who stories The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood. She also read the audio story The Gemini Contagion and the audiobook release of the novel Borrowed Time. She is married to Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Syal is perhaps best known for the sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, which she co-wrote and starred in with Bhaskar and Nina Wadia.
