A British character actor of long standing, she has worked on British television since at least a 1964 appearance on Dixon of Dock Green. She has also made appearances on The Saint; Z-Cars; Softly, Softly; and Emmerdale Farm. In the mid-1990s, she landed her only major recurring role, that of "Olive King" on Julia Smith's ill-fated Eldorado soap opera, made by Verity Lambert's production company. More recently, she has appeared on Little Britain with Tom Baker, Matt Lucas and David Walliams; and Casualty.
