A CyberKing was a variety of Dreadnought-class ship used on the front lines of planetary invasions by the Cybermen, and also the commander of the ship and the Cybermen forces on the planet itself. (DW: The Next Doctor)
- While only Cybus Cybermen have been seen to have used a CyberKing, the Doctor's knowledge of the vehicle may suggest that the Mondasian Cybermen also have used them.
History
Miss Hartigan was a human who was chosen by the Cybermen to become the CyberKing. Her memory was restored by an Infostamp, and she was apparently killed when she realised what she was.
Appearance
The CyberKing was a massive Cyberman-shaped walker, using its two legs to stride through the battledfield. The Cybus Cyberman CyberKing had a weapon attached to each arm: an electrical discharge weapon on its left arm, and a pulse launcher on its right arm.
The head served as the command centre for the vehicle, while its body contained a large cyber-conversion centre, allowing it to transform organic life into new Cybermen. (DW: The Next Doctor)
History
One CyberKing was created by Cybus Cybermen in London in 1851 after (as the Doctor theorised) the end of the 2009 Dalek Invasion of Earth collapsed the walls of the Void, allowing the Cybermen to escape and travel back in time using a stolen Dalek Dimension Vault.
Using child labour to generate electricity and produce the ship underneath the River Thames, Mercy Hartigan was made into the CyberKing. She refused to be cyber-converted, and instead used her mental powers to command the entire Cyberman army. The ship rose out of the Thames, with Miss Hartigan and several Cybermen controlling the machine inside the part of the vehicle shaped as a Cyberman mouthpiece, and rampaged across London. Using Jackson Lake's "TARDIS" and an improvised device made from Cyber infostamps, the Doctor severed link between Hartigan and the Cybermen, causing the ship to collapse killing the Cybermen and Miss Hartigan.
