Carla Langer was the ex-wife of Paul, and mother of Clyde Langer.

Biography

Carla's former husband left her for her own sister, Melba, before vanishing completely. It was later revealed that he had gone to Germany. (TV: The Mark of the Berserker)

Clyde's grandmother, more likely Carla's mother than mother-in law, was an old friend of Mrs. Randall, who lived at Lavender Lawns, and told Clyde of strange happenings transpiring there. (TV: Eye of the Gorgon) When Clyde went missing, actually kidnapped by Mr Smith, Carla phoned Maria, who assured her he would be safe. (TV: The Lost Boy) During the 2009 Dalek invasion she and Clyde were away together. (TV: The Stolen Earth)

Clyde said, although he may have been lying to prove a point, that his mother was unable to attend Sarah Jane's wedding to Peter Dalton as she was attending another wedding at the time. (TV: The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith)

Carla was one of the many affected by Hetocumtek's curse, causing her to turn on her own son and call the police after him. When Clyde defeated Hetocumtek and the curse was lifted, she embraced Clyde when he returned home. (TV: The Curse of Clyde Langer)

Personality

Carla was a very caring and loving mother to Clyde. She supported her son's talents at drawing and cooking. She was very tolerant — she let Clyde have a day out with Paul the day he returned to their lives because Clyde wanted to. (TV: The Mark of the Berserker, The Empty Planet, The Curse of Clyde Langer)
