Do you have a source for the "Gaffabek" spelling? If I'm going to correct such an old page, I'd prefer to have a source behind me.
On another note, I changed the category on your user page from <nowiki>[[Category:User pages]]</nowiki> to <nowiki>[[Category:Users]]</nowiki>. The first category is for wiki policies regarding user pages.
Lastly, I appreciate the vandalism patrolling as you did on CzechOut's talk page, but it's better if you just notify an admin. Only admins have a rollback feature that can undo several edits by the same person in one easy move. That makes cleaning up vandalism a bit easier than having to search through multiple edits and undos for the most recent correct edit.

Welcome to the Tardis:About Masterpwn

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:
~ ~ ~ ~

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. Doug86 00:14, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

Spelling

Hi! Please note that we use British spelling on this wiki. You can read more at Tardis:Spelling. Also, I strongly suggest you use the "preview" button when you edit. Some of your edits have letters left off words or omitted spaces between words. Previewing your edit before you publish will help get rid of this kind of error. Thanks! Shambala108 17:59, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, yes. It's the weird editor, it causes lag when I type, so my typing is about 3 seconds ahead of what appears on the screen, causing errors. I'll be sure to use preview before I publish anything from now on. I have indeed noted that this wiki uses British spelling. My being American will make this a little difficult but I'll try my best, replacing Zs with Ss and such. I'll take a good look at the spelling cheat card. Does one say bucket or pail? Also, I'm having trouble getting video editor to work...Masterpwn 18:19, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

To add a couple of things

It's common wiki practice, when answering someone's post to your talk page, to put your answer on their talk page. Yes, it's a pain, but if you post an answer to me on your talk page, I might not see it for a long time, if ever; if you post your answer on my talk page, I get a notification that someone has posted on my page. What people generally do is have 2 windows open, one window with the original message so they can refer to it, the other window with their answer.

Bucket/pail? I have no idea, but the wiki policy deals with spelling, not word usage. If someone knows the correct British choice, they can change it, but for now, just concentrate more on the spellings. Here's a place where you can find some of the more common British spellings: Tardis:Spelling cheat card.

Since you're having some troubles with the visual editor, I don't know if it will help but you can take a look at the forum thread that has a lot of info: Thread:143084.

Lastly, your question about the video editor: I'm not sure what you mean, but on this wiki only admins can upload videos to the site. If you have a recommendation for a video, you can post it at Tardis talk:Video recommendations. Thanks! Shambala108 21:05, March 21, 2014 (UTC)

I don't know much about the visual editor (I don't use it), but you can try posting your problem at Board:The Drax Cave. Maybe someone else has the same problem or an idea how to fix it. It's worth a try, because it sounds like a really annoying problem. Shambala108 02:00, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
You can find out how to disable it at Help:VisualEditor Beta Release, under "Notes about the Feature" (you'll have to scroll down a bit). It does a much better job of explaining than I could do. Shambala108 02:40, March 22, 2014 (UTC)

Story citations

Ok, here is what you would type for a story citation, of course changing the prefix and the story title as needed. As an example:

([[TV]]: ''[[The Web of Fear (TV story)|The Web of Fear]]'')

This works only in source mode; if you're using the Visual Editor, I actually don't know how, because I only used it a couple of times before giving up on it. If you want to know about Visual Editor, let me know and I'll re-add it to my preferences and play around with it a bit, then get back to you.

Hope this helps! Shambala108 03:29, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hartnell episodes

Hi! Please note that, while all story names are italicized, we use quotation marks for names of individual Hartnell episodes. You can read more at Tardis:Italics. Shambala108 16:34, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

Image question

Well, it looks like you figured it out yourself. Sorry I couldn't get back to you in time, but if you have any other questions, just ask. Shambala108 20:05, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

I did delete the one you requested. As for the other issues, I'm not very experienced with image uploads. I suggest you ask SmallerOnTheOutside (here's his talk page: User talk:SmallerOnTheOutside); I think he knows quite a bit about image uploads and he should be able to help you. Shambala108 23:55, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Frame issues

That one's pretty easy. It happens when you leave a space at the beginning of a new paragraph. For example, if I type the following sentence with a space in front of it (at the beginning of a paragraph), it looks like this:

Jamie and the Doctor left Victoria behind.

If I type it without a space in front, it looks normal:

Jamie and the Doctor left Victoria behind.

So all you have to do is make sure you have no spaces at the beginning of a paragraph. Shambala108 14:52, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

The Price of Paradise

I am, for some odd reason, turning this into a widespread project. There will be several new articles concerning things in it about characters, objects, etc. I'm feeling like doing a detailed job. Possibly because I've never done anything like summarizing a book's plot before. Maybe also because I'm hyperactive and overdo things occasionally. Hope nobody minds. *Hangs a "Do Not Disturb" sign on door*

Vandalism

Hey, thanks for trying to keep the vandalism down on the site. There are a few guidelines, however. First of all, most vandals are IP users, and they don't get notifications when someone leaves a message on their talk pages. In addition, most of the vandalism is highly intentional, so leaving a message for them just draws attention to their actions. So in the future, don't bother leaving them messages. If you think it's innocent vandalism, you can just leave a message in the edit summary.

When you see vandalism, you can leave a message on an admin's page, but keep in mind that admins are not going to broadcast when the matter is resolved. If you want to see if a vandal has been dealt with, you can check the "recent changes" page.

I am rarely away from the wiki for very long, so it doesn't take me long to take care of vandals. Most of the other admins don't spend as much time here, so you can always message me when you see vandalism, and leave it for me to deal with.

Thanks! Shambala108 20:38, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Hi! Please take a look at Tardis:Edit summary#Minor edits to see what qualifies as a minor edit. Many of the edits you mark as minor are actually not minor edits. Thanks. Shambala108 13:11, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

William Riker

On the William T. Riker page about that his first name is not revealed is false. His name was given as Will in issue six and I believe issue eight as well. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gothamcity1992 (talk • contribs) .

story titles

Hi! Please note that it is not necessary to pipe switch story titles to their dab terms (unless of course there is more than one article with that title). In fact, it is preferred that you do not change them at all. If you choose to write citations with the dab term, that is ok, but making edits just for switching to dab terms is highly discouraged. Thanks! Shambala108 13:31, May 6, 2014 (UTC)

Re: stretched images

It's not just you. It's either a wiki-wide thing that will have to be fixed on our end, or someone on our wiki is working on something and images are temporarily wacky. It will probably be fixed soon, but if you want you can leave a report at Board:The Drax Cave.

As for your second issue, I assume you're talking about the contents box? That's not an issue I'm having. What browser do you use? Wiki doesn't support IE anymore, so it just doesn't work in many ways (when I use it for wikis, it crashes). Also, Safari was having problems a little while back, as you can read at Thread:154468. Since this is specific to you, if you're not using one of the problem browsers, you should definitely bring this one up at the Drax Cave.

And that is pretty much the limit of my technical know-how. Reporting your problem on the Drax Cave should get the attention of the more tech-minded admins. Shambala108 22:33, May 12, 2014 (UTC)

Problem reports

Thanks for reporting in with technical issues. We're working fast to resolve them. You should already find that the stretched image thing is not a problem anymore, though you may need to clear your cache to see the resolution:

Clear your cache often around here

After changes are made to this site's CSS or Javascript, you have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes. You can always do this by going to your browser's preferences panel. But many browsers also offer keyboard shortcuts to save you that trouble. The following shortcuts work in the versions of the browsers that Tardis currently supports. They may not work in earlier versions.

  • Firefox: hold down Shift while performing a page reload.
  • Opera offers no default keyboard shortcut, but you can create a custom keyboard shortcut with the value Clear disk cache
  • Safari users should simultaneously hold down + Option + E. You may need to enable the Develop menu first
  • Chrome: press Ctrl + F5 or Shift + F5 while performing a page reload.

If you could provide more details on your table of contents issue, it'd be helpful.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by the phrase "content box". Nor do I really understand what you mean by "growing bars". Could you please take a screenshot of the issue? Thanks :)
czechout<staff />    13:32: Tue 13 May 2014
Ahhhhh, now that you've given that text mockup I see what you mean by "contents box". Thanks for the clarification. In the code, the phrase "content box" is ambiguous. You're talking about a "table of contents", or TOC, but now that it's clear what you're talking about, choose your own noun :)
What's still not clear at this point is what sounds like some kind of animation on unhiding the TOC. That's not at all happening in any browser to which I have access. If you'd upload your screenshot and put it on my user talk page, that'd be most helpful.
Also, if I could get your browser and operating system version numbers, it might go a long way to helping to diagnose. Thanks :)

Thanks for the greater clarification of your situation. I've tried in about 10 browsers under iOS 7.1.1, and none of them present the results you describe. The TOC pops up pretty as a picture in every single one of them.
I'm left to conclude that the problem would be solved by simply upgrading. We at Wikia are in a tricky place with iOS 6.
As a member of Wikia staff, I point you toward help:supported browsers, which says that we do support iOS 6, but "we recommend accepting all prompted browser updates to ensure you have the best browsing experience".
As Tardis' chief technical admin, I have to advise that I don't really have an easy way to actually support iOS 6 on this site, since my devices are at 7. And from the sound of things, all the IOS devices owned by local admin are also at 7.
Nevertheless, I have submitted a bug report to Wikia's engineering department, to see if they can offer any more advice. If they do, I'll let you know as soon as I do.
