Jem Bassett voiced the young William Shakespeare, credited as "Kitchen Boy", in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story The Time of the Daleks. To hide the fact Jem was really a girl, they shortened her name from Jemma to Jem to not reveal Shakespeare was portrayed by a woman. Jemma lives in Plymouth under her married name of Jemma Nicholls.
