Japonica was the daughter of King Gavin XXIII and the sister of Corianda.
Japonica and Corianda were very friendly with Jamie McCrimmon when he and the Second Doctor were on their planet. After the Doctor and Jamie helped to restore their father to the throne, Japonica and Corianda wanted Jamie to stay. (PROSE: Twin Piques)
