Ross was a human ally of the Ice Warrior lord Arryx when the Ice Warriors took control of A-Lux. When the Seventh Doctor was taken prisoner by the Ice Warriors, Ross accidentally let him escape and Arryx disowned him as an associate. With little choice, Ross turned sides and aided the Doctor and Frobisher in freeing A-Lux from Ice Warrior control. (COMIC: A Cold Day in Hell)
