I don't suppose the covers for the Darksmith Legacy could just use the Template:Bbcbookcover template, or the Template:Bookcover template? I'm not sure it's beneficial or effective to create a template for particular lines, all the templates are for publishers, or ongoing things like the magazines. --Tangerineduel 13:18, 7 February 2009 (UTC) | I don't suppose the covers for the Darksmith Legacy could just use the Template:Bbcbookcover template, or the Template:Bookcover template? :As for the Darksmith Legacy, put the webillustrations with the Template:webillustration template and the book ones in one of the two I listed. But also create a category much like :Category:BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures covers, you'd have to manually add a category such as this to the image you're uploading, this way they'll all be collected together, as well as being in the copyright tag specified category. Not sure what the category name should be Category:The Darksmith Legacy images is probably nice and simple, if that's what you want I'll create it and chuck it in probably the book cover and illustration categories. | |||
:The Character Options...continue to put the standard merchandising tag on them or no tag, and I will get around to it now...or later, maybe. But yes they probably will have their own copyright tag (as will Dapol when I get motivated to do some articles and category structures for them). As to when do I sleep it's currently 22 degrees at night and the cool change is just sweeping through where I am, so I don't fancy sleep at the moment. (I just had a look at the Character Options website for inspiration for the colour of the copyright tag...their logo is pinky-purple, I think it's going to surpass the user-image tag and the Template:Concept as the worst coloured tag...see I am doing it, just not immediatly, though I'll probably get it done tonight...see I've gone from maybe to probably all in the space of one paragraph). --Tangerineduel 13:52, 7 February 2009 (UTC) |

Continuity: the story titles should be italicised. (The way to work out references from continuity is. References are in-universe and if there's a lot of them organised under category headings (see...Alien Bodies for an example), continuity is out of universe.)
External Links: The external links website title is too long and non-specific. The web link should make reference to the site's name it's linking to, with brief explanation. The The Millennium Blag page I edited slightly, so now it reads 'Doctor Who - Battles in Time official website, with trading cards details', less wordy, still all the information, it also doesn't need a full stop at the end, it's a weblink in a list (even if it's the only one there, it's still bullet pointed.
Books
Glad you were able to work that out. Do let me know if I accidentally orphan any images, though! I've been doing a bit of work on the general books listings. Some of my major work included more strongly establishing the origins of the three Muller novelisations, correcting where possible anything that indicated they were Target originals and uploading Muller edition covers. I also created a series of articles on the Sarah Jane Adventures novelisations and I also created articles on Decalogs 4 and 5 to complete that set. I switched around some Target images if I found earlier editions either in my own collection or online. I think all first-edition Targets are now accounted for in the infoboxes. I haven't put all the information up on the Pinnacle Books, yet. I've also integrated release dates (per the book articles and the On Target website) into the chronology lists. If you spot any inconsistencies, please let me know. 23skidoo 00:59, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there - just passing through and thought I'd say hello - a really nice page on BiT. Was very amused that some of the isolated images I couldn't remember drawing :) Speaking of which - back to the drawing board for issue 59! Lee Sullivan 20:45, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- To paraphrase the Dalek movies; Every move you make I see, every sound you utter I hear...(sounds a lot less creepy in the 60s Dalek voices with the lights flashing not in sync with the voices). I'm always around here. I didn't notice, but have just seen (re Lee Sullivan). As far as promotions category wise it would probably go in Category:Doctor Who merchandise, probably in a subcategory or two. If there are a lot of promotional give aways for each (the Weetabix, chips, cereal etc) then each should be in a separate category. So maybe (within the DW merchandise category) it can be Category:Doctor Who promotional items, then within that category; Category:Weetabix Doctor Who promotions and so on. Get back to me if I've (as is sometimes the case) jumped on the wrong horse. --Tangerineduel 07:48, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
BBC Books cover variants
Earlier today I discovered that the Series 1-2 soundtrack CD has had to be reissued with a new cover featuring Tennant without Billie Piper. I asked about it at the DW Forum discussion board and apparently an issue has arisen regarding the licensing of Billie Piper's image for Who merchandise. (I wonder if it has to do with her current TV role as a call girl?) Apparently the BBC Books that she appeared on have been, or may soon be, or may sometime in the future be, reprinted with new covers showing only Tennant (and perhaps Eccleston?) solo. I haven't seen any of these variants myself, but I thought I would give you a heads up. 23skidoo 19:59, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry I haven't been in touch but I got logged off again and as I've mentioned to the admin, it's very difficult for some reason for me to log back in so I was actually editing as an IP for the last couple weeks. Regarding the BBC hardbacks, I saw some reference on the Doctor Who Forum that they were being reprinted in some countries in paperback - possibly Australia - so that might be what they're talking about regarding removing Billie's image. So far it's only been the soundtrack cover that I've seen changed. Have you heard if there are any plans to publish a collection of Battles in Time? We don't get that at all in Canada. Meanwhile, issue 2 of The Forgotten is now out and I'll be adding the applicable updates to the character appearances lists. Cheers! 23skidoo 14:22, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Image problem on one page
Hi. When you have a moment, could you please check The Revenge of the Cybermen (novelisation)? For some reason the main infobox book cover image isn't showing up but I can't seem to find any indication that the format or file name has been messed up or anything. Everything should work but the image isn't showing up. I checked other Target book pages and they seem fine. I spent part of the weekend doing some tweaking on many of the Target novelisation pages, but I don't think I did anything that should have messed up the image here. Thanks! 23skidoo 03:51, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- It must have been a glitch. Anyway, I'm in the process of adjusting release dates for some of the books -- I realized that none of them were taking into account the hardcover editions which often predated the paperbacks by months (in a number of cases actually changing the year of origin for the books). I've changed the infoboxes accordingly and will next tweak the main Target novelisation list and the years articles to make sure everything is correct. 23skidoo 14:52, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Sarah Jane novelisations
Have you happened to see any sign of the last two novelisations, Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane and The Lost Boy? According to Amazon.co.uk the books are out today (6 Nov) but they oddly don't have any cover art for either posted and I can't find any cover images anywhere else, which is odd for two books that have just been released. Amazon appears to have them in stock, so that suggests they haven't been delayed or something... 23skidoo 19:23, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Doctor Who Power Rollers
On first glance I thought these might be a photoshop mockup! We really are in odd times of Doctor Who Merchandising! What the hell are 'Doctor Who Power Rollers'? It seems to live up to the 'slap a Doctor Who logo on it and they'll buy anything' mentality (or am I just being A) Cynical or B) not understanding the concept?) Or both. Ah...for the good ole days of Dapol where they'd release a different coloured Dalek for ever occasion and a green K9. Merry Christmas. --Tangerineduel 13:20, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- And a Happy New Year to you. Aren't Frubes the yogurt...things. Doctor Who branded yogurt...things. It's no worse than Dalek Ice Rays and other food related Doctor Who things. Don't worry about the BIT things, however I have made it easier, no typing involved anymore just select 'Doctor Who: Battles in Time magazines and cards' from the licensing selector when you're at the upload section, just scroll down it's under magazines. This'll add it automatically, no typing involved. --Tangerineduel 16:30, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
feel free to make new articles for short story and comics characters
much tidier than including the information on individual comics or short story pages. --Stardizzy2 01:27, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Doctor Who Battles in Time comic strip stories
Hi, just a quick note, when adding the BIT comic strip stories (or indeed any stories), don't put them in the Category:Doctor Who stories, this category should just be for further subcategories. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:38, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
No correct
Actually the info was relatively correct. I removed it anyways as referencing it would only be duplicating the sources on wikipedia. As for the ebay stuff, it's not relevant. --Tangerineduel 11:26, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Trine-E / Alonzo
Just grabbed the DVD off the shelf, it's the last one Trine-E. I've moved the page to the correct name. --Tangerineduel 12:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
As far as Alonzo goes...after searching around for a bit, wikipedia has both spellings at various points. I'm guessing you're asking because of this, the battles in time Devastator (it looks like it needs to be written in bold), card. As I don't have the DVD easily to hand to check the subtitles we'll go with Alonso with an S. --Tangerineduel 13:08, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Character Options
Thanks for giving me the heads up (and thanks for comments on Black Sheep, mostly it just took me ages going back through the old forums looking for author quotes). For the most part I try to have keep a good over view and get involved with things I know about personally. The Character Options I don't really have a huge interest in, I had a look in on the Character Options pages to make sure they're up to standard, but as for content and how it's all going to be distributed I'll leave it in Azeus's and your capable hands. --Tangerineduel 11:55, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Copyright tags
For illustration do you mean just a general copyright tag like the Template:Magazinecover tag? As for the Doctor Who DVD Files, I'll get on that, is the name DVD filescopyright an alright name for the copyright tag (so it can be used for the cover and anything else connected to the Doctor Who DVD Files, much like the Template:BIT copyright)? I'll change the BIT copyright tag to include GE Fabbri Ltd (this is another thing I have had a passing attention to as BIT hasn't made its way out here. --Tangerineduel 11:55, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Done and done. Template:Illustration and Template:Dwdvdfiles copyright, both have been added to the Tardis:Copyright tags and to the drop down licenses select thing (when you go to the upload files section). --Tangerineduel 14:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
The Darksmith Legacy
I don't suppose the covers for the Darksmith Legacy could just use the Template:Bbcbookcover template, or the Template:Bookcover template? I'm not sure it's beneficial or effective to create a template for particular lines, all the templates are for publishers, or ongoing things like the magazines. --Tangerineduel 13:18, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
