Stan Lee was a comic book professional whom Clyde Langer hoped to displace by virtue of his own artistic talents. (TV: The Curse of Clyde Langer)

Behind the scenes

Stan Lee is the former Publisher, Editor-in-Chief, President, and Chairman of Marvel Comics. When Doctor Who Magazine was produced by Marvel, he was credited as its publisher.

Lee is a legendary figure in the world of comics and publishing, creating such seminal characters as Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four and many more. He is credited with building Marvel Comics from a small imprint to the major multimedia company it is now. He is also credited with bringing the "flawed hero" to superhero comics, invigorating the genre and paving the way for such reexaminations of the superhero story such as Alan Moore's Watchmen.
