Wilhelm Tell (in English William Tell) was an archer from Switzerland.
The Fourth Doctor attributed his skill with a crossbow to Tell's tutoring, having fired a bolt that prevented him being lowered into a pit of Horda. He went on to say that he was a "charming man." (TV: The Face of Evil)
The Seventh Doctor once told his companion Ace that he had met Tell, though she believed that he may have been joking. (AUDIO: The Settling)
Gioachino Rossini's William Tell Overture has named after him. (AUDIO: Enemy Aliens)
