Alonzo Frame was a midshipman on board the spaceship Titanic from the planet Sto. He was shot by Captain Hardaker, but survived. He also helped the Doctor, in trying to save the spaceship from crashing into the Earth. (DW: Voyage of the Damned)
The Doctor was excited to hear that full name as it gave him an opportunity to say "allons-y Alonzo." An alliteration he has been wishing to use (in context) for some time. (DW: Army of Ghosts)
