Anachrophobia was the term used to describe what the Plutocrats believed to be a fear of temporal displacement common among those who underwent time-jumps. The scientists performing the time-jump experiments believed that the failure of the mind to resynchronise with its return to the present caused a systemic response. However, the Eighth Doctor soon determined that the condition was actually the result of the subjects' pasts being erased as they were possessed by the Clock People. (PROSE: Anachrophobia)
