Unexpected Enemy in Bagging Area was a Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor comic strip published in 2014.

Summary

The Doctor encounters a new nemesis at the supermarket checkout.

Plot

The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond are in a supermarket buying almond milk. The Doctor is huffy, though Amy insists the milk is good for his hearts. As Amy scans the milk at a self-service checkout, the checkout announces there is an unexpected item in the bagging area repeatedly. The Doctor scans it with his sonic screwdriver, as he never trusts an item with a "short repetitive catchphrase", and demands the item to come out. An attendant appears and tells them that the machine goes funny sometimes, but the Doctor tells the machine it isn't over.

Characters

References

  • The Doctor compares the self checkout's baggage warning to the Daleks' "Exterminate!" and the Cybermen's "Delete!"
