Hans Zimmer (born 12 September 1957) is a German-born film composer. In 1985, when Doctor Who was put on hiatus and faced cancellation, the cast, crew, and other celebrities got together and sang a song, Doctor in Distress, to save the show. Zimmer performed on a Fairlight II synthesiser.
