The singular form for species article names appears to be the standard here, so this should be Wailer.

Elder Bones kidnapped a baby Wailer and brought it to Tantane Spaceport to eat his enemies. Unfortunately, it was found by Customs and escaped. The spaceport was put on lockdown, which lasted four hundred years. During this time, others of its race were bombarding the spaceport to retrieve their child.
