Mr Jones was on board his family star ship when he, his wife and son were attacked by a Dalek scientist. They sent out an SOS which was discovered by the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond, who arrived only a short time later. While the Doctor and Amy took a look at the engine room, the whole family was sent away through time. Mr Jones was later saved by the Doctor and Amy from the Silurians.
