This topic might have a better name.
I may have misunderstood, but I believe the Behind the scenes section says that we do not know his first name in-universe. Therefore, it should be renamed Chief Inspector Smith (not Smith (Ripper's Curse) as there is another.

Chief Inspector Smith lead the City of London Police in 1888. On 30 September, his police force attempted to investigate Jack the Ripper's murder of Catherine Eddowes. He had hoped to find a clue in the Goulsten Street message but "Sir Charles Warren" of the Metropolitan Police Service had jurisdiction and ordered it removed. Smith doubted Warren's assertion that the reference to "Ju'wes" was to induce a riot against Jews and accused Warren of protecting Freemason friends. (COMIC: Ripper's Curse)
Behind the scenes
- Neither Henry Smith nor William Smith are identified by anything beyond their last names and titles in Ripper's Curse. His actual title at the time was Chief Superintendent, serving as the acting commissioner.
