"The Waters of Mars" is an upcoming Doctor Who special which is due to air "around November-ish". Russel T Davies confirmed it on BBC Breakfast on 7 April 200, when he came to talk about Planet of the Dead.
The story is set on Mars[1] and the Doctor will be joined by a new companion named Adelaide, played by Lindsay Duncan. Producer Nikki Wilson (née Smith) described the character as "the Doctor's cleverest and most strong-minded companion yet."[2]
