Professor Malcolm Taylor was one of UNIT's scientific advisors. He was a Welsh man and had read all files on the Doctor as he was a former member of UNIT. He aided in sealing the wormhole but refused to close the hole until the Doctor was out, even when he was held at gunpoint by Captain Erisa Magambo. When the Doctor came back through, Malcolm successfully closed the wormhole and Magambo put down her gun. After the events he met the Doctor for the first time in person and was ecstatic about it.
