A Victorian Interlude is a Brief Encounter short story published in Doctor Who Magazine 172. It features Henry Jago and George Litefoot in their first appearance in any medium since they made their debut in the television story The Talons of Weng-Chiang in 1977.
Summary
With giant rats still roaming the sewers of Victorian London, Henry Gordon Jago and George Litefoot realise that someone must deal with the creatures and intend to do it themselves using their newly-acquired Gatling gun. As the pair leave the public house where they have been discussing their forthcoming task, as well as wishing the Doctor was still around to help, Litefoot bumps into a stranger dressed as a cricketer, to whom he apologises before departing.
