Phil Collinson has been producer of Doctor Who since 2005.
He stated in an interview on Doctor Who Confidential that he originally intended to become an actor.
In 2008 the BBC announced that he would be moving to BBC Manchester to take up the role of Head of Drama, he is expected to move following the completion of Series 4.
