Fan of Doctor Who since the end of the 70s, I am embarrassed to admit that ''The Time Monster'' was one of the inspirations for my MA in classical studies. I finally visited the archaeological dig on Thera [Santorini] in 2005. Thanks to my scholarly bent, I actually enjoy ferreting out details in canon and hunting down primary sources. Despite starting in the Pertwee era (thanks to the PBS rerun cycle) and recording/watching all the extant classic Who serials broadcast on American TV in the 80s, it's the Fifth Doctor era that I know best. I own every audio and DVD for Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton. If I'm being pedantic on some nitpicky detail, it's most likely because I have just consulted the relevant clip.
