The police sergeant worked in a prison where Count Rolf Wittenmeier was held in Vienna, Austria in 1873.
Being responsible for allowing visitors, he was initially rather curt with the Count, refusing his requests and allowing only very short visits of his wife. He became a little more cooperative after the Count was attacked on his watch right in the prison cell. (AUDIO: The Silver Turk)
