Black magic was a form of magic associated with Satan and other similar entities. Black magic was often associated with witchcraft, although the two often differed.
Some of the races which practised black magic included the Dæmons (TV: The Dæmons), the Carrionites (TV: The Shakespeare Code), and the Hervoken. (PROSE: Forever Autumn)
There were also practitioners of black magic on Earth, although the use of it was not species-wide.
In 1611, Elizabeth Bathory, Edward Kelley and Francis Pearson conducted a black magic ritual which brought the Mimic to Earth. (PROSE: Managra)
