An Auton duplicate of General Scobie was created to take the real Scobie's place and command the army.
With the real Scobie having been placed in Madame Tussauds in a form of suspended animation, the duplicate retrieved the final Nestene meteorite control unit from UNIT and returned it to Channing, before taking a squad of men to arrest the Brigadier's UNIT men when they raided Auto Plastics.
